Van is remarkable condition due to having a respray by VW in Oct 2011 for over £5250!! Only bits to mention are rear bumper has slight cracking and a teeny bit of bubbling on side door (see pics) but I spoke to a sprayer mate who said it wouldnt cost much to sort out as its in a very easy place. It never got any worse so didn't bother me.
Very reliable
2 Keys
4 Former owners
Electric windows, mirrors, Remote central locking, CD/ Aux player, uprated speakers all round, VW leather seat covers with matching leather gear knob dressing.
Provisions installed to take fridge/cooker/hob/sink with pump with ease but I used a stand alone stove when I used it.
Reason I'm selling is because I don't use it enough, I have used it less than 6 times from what I remember so it needs a loving new home now!
CASH on collection only or bank transfer. NO ONE will take the van until funds have cleared. Any questions feel free to ask! Viewings incredibly welcome!! Come and view I'm open to offers but I'm in no rush to sell.
Thanks!
OK so if you're really interested in the van then here's the REALLY detailed bit!!
So I've had the van since 2014, since then I stripped it out entirely and re-converted the back into a day van to fit my specification. Before it was done to an 'ok' standard but that wasn't really good enough for me so it all came out, got cleaned and treated, insulated, boarded and recarpeted throughout. It came with the private plate but now the T6 van is out it's worth some serious money!!
Be easier to break it down to explain everything in detail!
Ceiling- 2 sets of 12v lights wired on 2 switches. 1 switch controls main lights which light the back up lovely. 2nd switch controls the smaller perimeter lights for in the evenings and want more of a 'comfort lighting.' The standard door courtesy lights have been moved also, 1 to the rear of ceiling and one to the wall.
Floor- There is a wooden 'floating' floor in the center bit (installed for easy cleaning for british unexpected weather sometimes!) and then carpeted in rear.
Bed- Custom bed is single for usual use but simply pulls out to make a double bed. There are doors to allow for storage underneath of unit. There is a speaker wired into it which simply unplugs at an accessible point so the bed can be removed easily if needed (5 screws and its out!) The foam mattress on top is exactly that, 2 cuts of foam that we simply wrap in a sheet. Once the bed is pulled out you simply unfold the foam mattress to make a double bed!
Unit- This unit is also custom to make it simple to remove. The worktop is removable giving access to 2 screws that keep it in place and all electrics are on a simple plug that can be undone with ease, also same with speaker. The unit has 2 doors which give large amounts of storage underneath and a shelved section for easy storage. The 2 cubby holes (painted red) each have a 230v double socket (chrome) which aren't wired in yet and the cubby hole nearest rear door has a 12v point. This includes a twin usb point (ideal for phone charging etc) a voltmeter to keep check on the leisure battery and a 12v cigarette lighter which is where I have the TV plugged into.
TV- Tv is 230v with an adapter for 12V use and has built in DVD player as can be seen working in the pictures playing Big Bang theory! It's installed on a wall bracket that swings out to make it easier to watch from wherever.
Additional Power- There is a 230v socket and 12v point with twin USB point and cigarette lighter. There is also provisions to wire in additional speakers, lights and a POD unit for a pump and gas cooker and fridge included.
Leisure Battery/Mains Hook Up- At the rear of the van, underneath, there is a 16Amp mains hook up (lead with 13A plug top adapter included) which is wired through a 16A RCBO protective device which then powers the sockets in the rear. When there is no power connected, the sockets are wired through an inverter powered via the leisure battery which runs through the same safety overcurrent device. As soon as the van is hooked up, a relay switches over making the inverter redundant for an automatic and human error free system!! The leisure battery is also charged through the vans alternator which once has charged the van battery to 13.3V changes over and charges the leisure battery until main battery requires charging again. Leisure battery, fuse box, rcbo, relays and inverter all wired under passenger seat. Main battery is the largest I could fit in there AND brand new!!
If I'm losing you don't worry I'll explain it all in person! I can literally talk about this van all day long!
So as said the van is remarkable condition on the outside bar the 2 bits mentioned. It had a respray which was a very professional job! I looked at a few vans before buying this one and it was easily the best condition van I'd seen! New alternator within past 2 months, new battery as mentioned, last service was January 2015 (I think! I will check!), clutch+flywheel+water pump all changed around 100,000 miles, all mechanically perfect!
Only other point worth mentioning is the passenger door seemed to be not unlocking sometimes first time off the key. Either a couple of attempts with the remote key or open inside and its fine. Hasn't done it since I recharged the battery but worth mentioning! Also the leisure battery is simply a car battery removed from my sisters car before it was scrapped. Does the job but could do with a proper one as it loses its charge a bit quick when the tv is running.
And there it is! The longest advert I've ever written for a vehicle and I've probably still forgotten bits!!
Come and view the van is in Bridport, Dorset. Feel free to phone or text 07837 781608. Thanks!!
