Uppermill is the largest of the Saddleworth villages with plenty of eateries, bars, take aways, tea rooms, up market shops, a convenience store, Civic Centre, swimming pool with gym and a Modern Medical Practice (free parking) that is serviced by two Pharmacies. Saddleworth has superb transport links by car, rail and bus to Oldham (6 miles), Huddersfield (14 miles), Manchester (14 miles), Manchester Airport (21 miles), Ashton Under Lyne (7 miles) and a night out at in Stalybridge - "Staley Vegas" - is 7 miles away. Both Oldham and Ashton under Lyne have excellent hospitals services with A&E.
The river Tame meanders through Uppermill and crossing the village green leads to the stepping stones across to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. There are plenty of local walks in the surrounding countryside with Saddleworth Moors and the Peak District close by. The area has beautiful views from e.g. "Pots n Pans" Monument (visible from the house).
The refurbished modern property is located in a quiet residential area. One, possibly two rooms are available with rent per calendar month and terms available on application. If one tenant the successful applicant would have use of their own bathroom and lounge. If two tenants the facilities would be shared with rent(s) adjusted accordingly. The room(s) are furnished with TV's. The main lounge has a modern feature gas fire, large screen TV and is furnished. The modern shared kitchen has all necessary equipment and utensils including a breakfast bar and integrated fridge / freezer and washer / dryer. The Conservatory is used as a 6 seat dining room and provides access to the rear of the property. There are 2 paved patio areas in this 4 level garden. The top patio has storage for the 2 bar-b-ques and garden furniture. There is a paved area to the front of the house with a driveway for off road parking. The garage houses a second freezer. The property is double glazed insured and has an alarm and has WiFi.
The house share is offered on a non smoking basis to clean, tidy, employed (no DSS) Male or Female applicants with students considered. References are required and will be taken up. A bond (deposit) is also required with rent payable one month in advance. Age group is 18 - 60 and pets are not allowed.
I am an easy going (don't suffer fools) male working at / from home and spend most of my time on the first floor of the property when home. My interests include occasional motorcycling / camping, watching Moto GP, British and World Superbike racing, Speedway Grand Prix, documentaries, Geography, Geology, General Knowledge and wildlife programmes. I enjoy comedy and possess a wicked, dry sense of humour. I have travelled worldwide by ship, air and motorcycle. My "degree" is in life.
